Strip and vehicle installations
These are the jobs you only want to do once. Everything here ends up glued, routed or bolted somewhere awkward, so the planning matters more than in any other group — an error found on the bench costs minutes, and the same error found behind a television or inside a door card costs an afternoon.
Two themes run through all of them.
Power is the limit far more often than the light is. Dim far ends, colour drifting warm along a run, flicker that only appears on bright content — these look like faulty strip and are almost always the supply, the cable, or where the power enters. Start with the power guide even if your question is about something else.
Adhesive is positioning, not mounting. Tape holds strip while you decide where it goes. What keeps it there for years is a mechanical retainer, a channel, or a clip. This is true behind a warm television and doubly true on a vehicle.
